Whether by car, train or plane - the Sonnenburg is located in the centre of Kleinwalsertal and yet is very easy to reach. Nestled in the impressive mountain world of Riezlern, a place of peace, relaxation and genuine hospitality awaits you here. The bus stop is right outside the door, free outdoor parking is available and an underground car park is included for suites. For those who want to arrive without a car, there is the Walserbus with perfect connections - ideal for a car-free holiday. And it doesn't matter whether you're travelling from the south, west or north: We will be happy to help you plan your journey - so that you arrive relaxed and can take a deep breath straight away.

The closest train station is in Oberstdorf (DE) - from there you can easily take the Walserbus or taxi directly to Kleinwalsertal. Direct connections from Munich or Augsburg take you to your destination stress-free. Particularly practical: the Walserbus runs regularly from Oberstdorf to Riezlern. The "Sonnenburg" bus stop is right in front of the hotel. We are also happy to organise a private taxi for you - just let us know when you book. So your holiday starts with your arrival.

Travelling with Deutsche Bahn? There are discounted tickets for € 2,- for travelling to and from Kleinwalsertal on line 1 from/to Oberstdorf. We will be happy to inform you about all the details!

By car

Even the journey through the Allgäu is a promise: green hills, clear views, anticipation. You reach Kleinwalsertal via Oberstdorf - without a motorway tax sticker, but with all the more views. Via the A7 or A980 motorway (from Germany). Via Kempten - Sonthofen - Oberstdorf directly into Kleinwalsertal. The Sonnenburg is situated on the edge of Riezlern, quiet and sunny, with free parking directly at the house. Free underground car parking is available for guests who have booked our suites.

From the runway directly into the mountains.
Your journey from Memmingen airport to Sonnenburg. Land gently by aeroplane, breathe in, let go - and then? Off to the mountains. Memmingen Airport (Allgäu Airport) is one of the closest airports to Sonnenburg and will get you to your holiday destination quickly and easily. Whether by taxi, hire car or public transport: your time out starts on the way to us.

By hire car:

Numerous car hire providers are available directly at the airport. The drive to Kleinwalsertal takes around 2.5 hours (approx. 160 km) and takes you through beautiful landscapes - ideal for a flexible, relaxed journey.

By airport taxi or shuttle service:

Individual door-to-door transfers are easy to book. Local taxi companies will pick you up directly at the airport and take you to Sonnenburg without having to change.

By public transport:

You can also reach us reliably by bus and train. From Memmingen airport take the bus to Memmingen railway station (approx. 15 minutes)
Continue by train to Oberstdorf (approx. 2.5 hours, change once in Kempten) From Oberstdorf bus station, take the Walserbus line 1 to the "Unterwestegg" stop. Change to line 2 to "Sonnenburg" - directly in front of the hotel (journey time approx. 35 minutes)
