Why do we need sports camps for women only?

Ladies Days Events founder Irene Walser on the question of why sports camps are only needed for women.

LADIES DAYS EVENTS FOUNDER IRENE WALSER ON THE QUESTION OF WHY SPORTS CAMPS ARE ONLY NEEDED FOR WOMEN:

Because women don't feel confident enough on their own.

When it comes to mountain sports and outdoor adventures, but also in their professional and private lives, many women often don't trust themselves enough. Even ambitious and ambitious women sometimes hardly dare to push boundaries or take a step out of their comfort zone. One reason for this is that they lack "sparing" partners, and not just in alpine terrain, where you should never be travelling alone. Even when running, cycling or cross-country skiing, it's nice to be pushed by like-minded people and to be able to laugh or vent frustration together.

Because women listen better to their gut feeling

I have often experienced myself what happens when a woman simply runs or drives after her partner during sport. In most cases, the difference in performance level alone is no fun for either of them: one is overwhelmed and one is underchallenged, emotions quickly boil over and desire soon turns into frustration. In addition, women are still better at listening to their gut feeling in risky situations. If the "strange" gut feeling is drowned out, it can lead to dicey situations, and not just for the woman.

Because boundaries are easier to shift among women

With the Ladies Days Sport and Mindset Camps, I want to give women the opportunity and the impetus to try out a new sport, improve themselves, explore and push boundaries and, on the other hand, create a platform where women can exchange ideas and network with other women in an uncomplicated and organised setting, experience mutual encouragement and confirmation and find a break from everyday life.

Because only trained men should take on the guiding role

However, I don't want to give the women too much room for specific doubts. That's why I have selected those men from my network of mountain and ski guide friends who, with their professionalism, charm and just the right amount of adventurous spirit, can not only motivate the women, but also push them beyond their limits.

Because a different mindset opens up completely new possibilities

Psychologist Anna Maaß is also on board as a good friend who knows how to release blockages and fears and helps to change the mindset. It's okay to say "I don't dare", but how much greater is the feeling of happiness when a woman has achieved something she never thought she could with professional guidance. New challenges and new experiences in sport also help with self-esteem and resilience in other areas of life.

Because women don't have to be professional athletes to experience something

The participants of the Ladies Days events are between 30 and 60 years old. They are mothers, household managers, part-time or full-time employees, secretaries, doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, ... - who like to be active outdoors, want to keep fit and gain new experiences, but for whom time is the most valuable commodity. They have both feet firmly on the ground, but often put everything else before their own needs. That's why the Ladies Days events have everything you need for a fun-filled weekend: from accommodation with delicious food and wellness facilities to guiding, tickets and equipment.
